Teaching the Faith
Advent Time of Hope and Preparation
As we begin this time of Advent, the Church
invites us to prepare ourselves to receive the gift
of our salvation. God in his infinite love and mercy
seeks the salvation of all his creation. As a
consequence of sin, the first man’s relationship
with God is broken, but God in his infinite love for
all humanity, and in his infinite Wisdom, he
prepared the way for us all to enjoy Salvation
through his Son Jesus. So that we can return to
the order and purpose for which we were created,
which is union with God.
At the beginning of this time of Advent the Church
invites us to prepare ourselves inwardly to be able
to contemplate the Mystery of the Birth of the child
Jesus.
The love of God that never tires of seeking man
becomes visible in the great Mystery of the
Incarnation of the Son of God. In this mystery of
the Incarnation we see the visible figure of the true
and living God, of the word that is “made flesh and
dwelled among us.” (John 1,14).
At this time of Advent we must also prepare
ourselves, as the Blessed Virgin Mary was
prepared, to receive her Son. We must join to her
prayers and the prayers of the Church so that
Jesus can find a worthy place in each of our
hearts. So that the cold of sin, apathy, injustice,
and selfishness may not prevent him from being
born in our soul, but rather, may the warmth of
Love, harmony, Faith, and Hope reign in u, so that
He can be incarnated and be born in each of our
hearts.
My prayer is that in this time of Advent we prepare
ourselves so that we can receive the Son of God in our
hearts and in each of our homes, since the time of
Advent announces to us the coming of Our Salvation.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with everyone in
this time of Advent. As we join to the prayer of the
Church asking, Come, Lord Jesus.
God bless you!
